Registration Info & FAQ

Summer Camp at Celtic begins very soon, and we have some updated information regarding registration, testing, and cohorts at camp.

Here are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions....

FAQ 1: Is Celtic having camp this summer?

ANSWER: YES! And we are pretty excited!

FAQ 2: What about testing for campers and staff?

The Ontario Camps Association has been working diligently with provincial health authorities since last summer, in order to develop standards for the safe operation of overnight camps in the time of COVID. The guidance that all camps must adhere to includes the testing of all campers within 96 hours prior to, and again upon arrival to camp. The first test is PCR test, available to all campers free of charge at many locations throughout Ontario. Just follow this link, and look for the " I am a camper going to camp"!

At this site you will also find the following link, which lists all the places near you that will do this testing! Please bring documentation of test results to registration.

The second test will also be free of charge, and administered by our Health Team here at Celtic. It is a rapid test, and involves a quick swab just inside the nostril....not the brain!

Once the rapid test results are complete, (about 15 mins) campers will join their cabin and counsellor and begin their camp experience!

FAQ 3: What about masks and cohorts at camp?

ANSWER: Each cabin will be a cohort for camp activities, dining and sleeping. Campers can be mask free when they are with their cohort. Masks will be required on the beach bus and indoors where cohorts may be mixed.

Campers can be mask free when outdoors and socially distanced during camp other activities. It is our intention to have camp be as safe as possible, and at the same time, as "normal" as possible!

FAQ 4: How will Registration work?

ANSWER: We will be contacting you just before camp starts, to tell you what time your cohort will register. But registration will still take place between 1:00 and 3:00 pm on the opening day of camp, as usual.

We will have multiple registration tents set up to ensure social distancing and efficiency. One parent/guardian may accompany each camper at the registration tent, and to the cabin. Other family members will be asked to stay outdoors and mask when nearby others.
